35 Years For Blackpool Man Who Murdered Teenager

A 23-year-old man has been found guilty of the murder of a 16-year-old girl in Blackpool.

Teenager Sasha Marsden was stabbed 58 times and set on fire in what Lancashire Police described as "one of the most horrific cases" they had encountered.

David Minto, from Blackpool, was jailed for life for the "sexually motivated" attack after he had lured Sasha to a hotel with the promise of a job.

Sasha was sexually assaulted and stabbed in the neck and head in an attack so severe she had to be identified by DNA from her toothbrush.

Minto, who denied murder, was given a minimum term of 35 years.
