Birmingham City Footballer Arrested Over Hit-And-Run
Footballer Marlon King has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run crash near London's West End just after midnight on Saturday, according to the BBC.
Police responded to a call that a car had struck a pedestrian at Bishops Bridge Road at the junction with Eastbourne Terrace at 00:006 on Saturday.
The vehicle involved failed to stop.
A man in his late 40s was injured in the incident and was treated at a central London hospital for a head injuries.
A Met spokeswoman said: "A 33-year-old man was subsequently arrested by officers from City of London Police on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of a road traffic collision and taken to a central London police station.
"He has been bailed to mid-September pending further inquiries."

Handicapped Girl's Rapist Jailed
A rapist has been sentenced at Inner London Crown Court following his earlier conviction. Rafal Piotr Smucz, 29, of no fixed address was jailed indefinitely and ordered to serve a minimum of six years.

Detectives investigating a car-jacking incident in London that led to the death of a 32-year-old man have arrested four males. The victim, Harjinder Singh Bhurji, of Highbury Gardens, Stoneleigh Road, Ilford, died from a chest wound after being stabbed in his car.

Man Shot By Police In East London
A man has been arrested in an east London hospital where he is being treated for gunshot wounds. It is understood that the man was shot by armed police at around 8.15pm in the Hale End Road in Walthamstow. Police had responded to reports of a man with a handgun.

Four Arrested By Armed Police In Central London
Armed police have arrested four men in Central London during a planned vehicle stop operation. The men, aged 16 to 20, have been charged with conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to endanger life. Police said that the arrests were made as part of an investigation being led by Trident detectives.
