65-Year-Old Bailed On Asda Carpark Manslaughter Charge

A man arrested in connection with the death of 64-year-old man in an Asda car park has been bailed.

It is understood that the victim died in hospital on Sunday after sustaining head injuries when he was pushed to the ground during an argument in the supermarkets disabled parking area.

The incident happened at an Asda store in Biggleswade in Bedfordshire on Saturday.

A 65-year-old man held on suspicion of manslaughter was bailed until August 19.

Bedfordshire Police have asked anyone who was in the car park at the time or may have witnessed the altercation to contact them.

A 65-year-old man has appeared in court charged with manslaughter after a 64-year-old man was killed in an alleged row over a parking space, Sky News has said. Alan Watts appeared at Bedford Magistrates' Court only to confirm his name and address and that he understood the charge.

Asda To Create 12,000 Jobs Over Five Years
Asda is to create up to 12,000 jobs over the next five years. Doug McMillon, President and CEO of Walmart, made the announcement with the Rt. Hon. David Cameron MP at Asda's Clapham Junction store in London. Mr McMillon showed Mr Cameron around the London store, which is one of 577 Asda stores in the UK.

Second Man Arrested After Man Is Seriously Injured In Wolverhampton
Police investigating a disturbance outside a Wolverhampton pub that saw a car veer into a crowd of people, leaving one man seriously hurt, have arrested a second man. Officers were called to reports of a disorder outside The Rookery Tavern in Wood Street at 7.30pm Sunday 4th May.

Asda Announce 5,000 Jobs
Retail giant Asda have announced it is to invest over £500m in its UK stores creating some 5,000 jobs across the country. The supermarket confirmed plans to open 25 new stores across and three depots in 2012 as well as extend and refurbish 43 of its existing stores.
