Marines Deny Murder Of Afghan Prisoner

Three Royal Marines have appeared in court charged with the murder of an Afghan prisoner.

The suspects, known only as A, B and C, denied murder when they appeared before the Military Court Centre, Bulford, Wiltshire for a pre-trial hearing.

Two other Marines were cleared of charges in February.

An anonymity order was granted last year to protect the identity of the five accused.

The trial, expected to last three weeks, will begin on October 12. The three were granted bail.
