Man Charged Over Fatal Bull Attack

A man has appeared in court charged in the connection with the death of a man killed by a bull while walking in Nottinghamshire.

Roger Freeman was walking with his wife on a public right of way at Underhill Farm, Stanford-on-Soar, in November 2010 when they were attacked by a bull.

Mr Freeman was pronounced dead at the scene and his wife was critically injured, but survived the attack.

Paul Waterfall, who owns the farm where the attack happened, appeared in court on a charge of manslaughter over Mr Freeman's death.

He was bailed to appear again on August 21.

DJ Alan Freeman dies aged 79
Veteran radio presenter and DJ Alan 'Fluff' Freeman has died peacefully after a brief illness aged 79. Freeman, , who had been living in a nursing home since he was diagnosed with arthritis in 2000, had amassed a radio following as one of his generation's leading DJ talents with catchphrases that included "not 'arf" and "greetings, pop pickers".

Bull Terrier In Attack On Girl
A Staffordshire bull terrier in North Yorkshire has seriously injured a 10-year-old girl in an attack. The attack happened near Alanbrooke Barracks in Thirsk on Thursday evening. A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police confirmed that the girl had been bitten on the cheek and was due to undergo surgery.

Police Carry Out Searches Following Terrorism Arrest
The North West Counter Terrorism Unit has carried out a number of searches in Merseyside following the arrest of a man on suspicion of planning acts of terrorism on Wednesday. The anti-terrorism officers were joined by Merseyside Police in searching five addresses linked to the 31-year-old suspect.

Prince Harry Completes Apache Training
His Royal Highness Prince Harry, or Captain Wales as he is known in the Army, has been named best co-pilot gunner in his Apache training course. Captain Wales and his fellow trainees have now completed the Conversion to Role (CTR) course which involves 18 months of rigorous training on the Apache attack helicopter.
