Man Arrested In Connection With Twitter Threats
A man has been arrested in Bristol in connection with threats made online against a Labour MP and a female rights campaigner.
Police confirmed that the 32-year-old was arrested on suspicion of committing an offence under the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.
It is understood it is directly related to threats and harassment reported by Labour MP Stella Creasy and campaigner Caroline Criado-Perez on micro-blogging site, Twitter.
A number of woman in the public eye have been receiving threats and harassment on the website, with increasing calls being made for Twitter to take action against so-called trolls – people who aim to insult or intimidate others online to gain a reaction.

Man Cautioned Over Cotton Threats
Detectives at Scotland Yard have arrested and cautioned a man for sending threatening text messages to radio presenter Fearne Cotton (pictured) while she was on air. Police escorted Miss Cotton home after she received what was described as "severe" content during Sunday night's Official Chart Show.

Two men were arrested for allegedly making offensive remarks on Twitter about the murder of British soldier Lee Rigby in Woolwich. A 23-year-old and a 22-year-old, both from Bristol, were being held under the public order act on suspicion of inciting racial or religious hatred.

The future of injunctions is hanging in the balance after a Lib Dem MP named the footballer in Parliament involved in an injunction to hide an alleged affair. During a Commons question on privacy orders, John Hemming named Manchester United footballer Ryan Giggs as the man at the centre of the gagging order.

Clegg Doused In Blue Paint
The Deputy Prime Minister has been covered with blue paint by a protestor during a visit to Scottish supporters. The attack happened during a closed meeting where Nick Clegg was scheduled to speak to Liberal Democrat supporters in Glasgow. Police said one man had been arrested in connection with the incident, which took place at Woodside Hall.
