Manchester Loan Sharks Jailed

Three Manchester men have been jailed over illegal lending and money laundering.

27-year-old Ian Parsons, of Blackley was jailed for 32 months, while 37-year-old Christopher Weaver and his 35-year-old brother Mark, both of Gorton, were jailed for 18 months and three months respectively.

According to reports, the three men charged 100% interest and would menace customers via mobile phone.

It is understood that the trio had some 134 customers and an annual turnover of more than £100,000 per year.

UK Property Prices 'Still Falling'
House prices in the three months to October were 1.2% lower than in the preceding three months, according to the Halifax. The financial services provider, part of the Lloyds Banking Group, said prices in October were 2.3% lower than at the end of 2009 on a seasonally adjusted basis (-1.2% unadjusted).

Two Jailed Over Mosque Arson Attack
Two men, who admitted arson with reckless endangerment to life, have been jailed over an attack on a mosque in Gloucester. In June petrol was poured around the door of the Masjid-E-Noor mosque on Ryecroft Street and set on fire.

Manufacturing output shows slight upward trend
Figures published today by the Office of National Statistics have shown that between March and April this year manufacturing output rose by 0.9%.
