Boy, 10, Arrested In Connection With Death Of 79-Year-Old Man

A 10-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the death of a man in Harehills, Leeds.

On Sunday police were contacted by the ambulance service who were tending a 79-year-old man with a head injury in Back Hill Top Avenue.

He was taken to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment but was pronounced dead a short time later.

The boy remains in custody.

Man Held Over Bradford Boy's Death
Police have arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of murder following the death of a nine-year-old boy in Bradford last night. He is also being questioned about the wounding of an 18-year-old woman. Police were called to reports that a boy had been stabbed at an address on Rookes Avenue in Bradford shortly before 8pm yesterday.

Five Arrested After Man Stabbed To Death In Leeds
Police have arrested five people after a man was stabbed to death in Leeds. 27 year old Christopher Wade died after being stabbed near to the Butterbowl public house, in Butterbowl Drive, Farnley on Tuesday. A 23 year old man and a 16 year old male have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Police Dig Up Pub Patio In Search For Missing Landlady
Police investigating the disappearance of a landlady in Cambridgeshire in 1997 are digging up the patio of her former pub. Deborah Steel, 37, was landlady of the Royal Standard in Ely, Cambridgeshire, when she disappeared on 28 December 1997. Police have said that Ms Steel's disappearance is now being treated as a murder investigation.

Wanted Man Arrested In London
The man wanted in connection with the murder of a 66-year-old man who intervened during a robbery, has been arrested. Ian John McLoughlin, 55, was arrested in London at around 01:00. He was wanted on suspicion of murder and robbery. Airports and ports had been put on alert as police hinted for McLoughlin.

Seven Arrested On Suspicion Of Terrorist Fundraising
Seven people have been arrested on suspicion of terrorist financing offences, according to the Metropolitan Police. They were arrested at four separate addresses in London, Cardiff and Coventry at approximately 6am on suspicion of being concerned in the funding of a terrorist organisation, and laundering the proceeds of crime for that purpose.
