Coroner Pleads Guilty To Fraud

A coroner has pleaded guilty to stealing from the estates of dead people.

57-year-old Alan Crickmore, coroner for Gloucestershire until he was suspended in December 2010, pleaded guilty to 24 counts of fraud, totalling some £2 million.

According to reports Crickmore was bailed and electronically tagged ahead of sentencing on November 28.

Man Pleads Guilty To Fatal Homeless Men Stabbings
A homeless man has pleaded guilty on the grounds of diminished responsibility for the deaths of two men in Birmingham. Ian Gladwich and Wayne Busst, also homeless and sellers of the Big Issue, died after being stabbed by John Ward on Union Street in Birmingham city centre on 11 January.

Max Clifford Pleads Not Guilty To Charges
PR consultant Max Clifford has pleaded not guilty to 11 counts of indecent assault. The 70-year-old appeared at Southwark Crown Court this morning. He faces charges relating to seven alleged victims, between the ages of 14 and 19, between 1966 and 1985. Speaking outside the court, Clifford said he was "totally innocent" of the allegations.

Owner Of Killer Dogs Pleads Guilty To Causing Unnecessary Suffering
The owner of four dogs that killed a teenager in Greater Manchester in March has admitted to causing unnecessary suffering to the animals. 14-year-old Jade Anderson died after she was attacked by two bull mastiffs and two Staffordshire bull terriers in Wigan, Greater Manchester, on 26 March.

A retired UK businessman faces sentencing in the US after pleading guilty to arms dealing. 66-year-old Christopher Tappin was extradited to the US last February over claims he tried to sell missile batteries to Iran.
