Nicola Edgington Loses Bid To Appeal

A "dangerous" woman who assaulted two strangers with a knife in London has lost a bid to appeal against her conviction and sentence.

Nicola Edgington, 33, of Greenwich, south-east London, killed Sally Hodkin, 58, and attempted to kill Kerry Clark, 22.

Edgington had already killed her mother six years earlier but was released and allowed to live within the community.

She was found guilty in March and was ordered to serve at least 37 years in prison.

Lord Justice Treacy, Mr Justice Green and Sir David Maddison dismissed her applications for leave to appeal against her conviction and sentence.

At her sentencing, the Recorder of London, Judge Brian Barker told Edgington that her behaviour had been "consistent and calculated".
