Two Arrested Over Hammer Attack

Two men have been arrested following a fight between neighbours in Walsall.

Officers from the West Midlands Police Force were called to a property in Kelvin Road on the Beechdale Estate just before 8pm on Monday night after receiving calls that two men were trying to break down the front door.

When police arrived at the scene, they found a 63-year-old man suffering from a head injury, broken fingers and a fractured arm. It is understood he had been struck with a claw hammer a number of times.

A 59-year-old was arrested at the scene, while a second man, who is 44 and also lives on the Beechdale Estate, was arrested shortly after midnight.

Both are in police custody on suspicion of wounding and burglary.

Men Charged In Relation To Drug Production

Police in Lincoln have charged two men in connection with the production of cannabis.

On 9 December, officers executed a warrant for an address in Lincoln where they recovered a quantity of cannabis plants and growing equipment.

Peter Gamblin, 28, of Boultham Park Road, Lincoln, was arrested and charged with being concerned in the production of cannabis and Derek Gamblin, 61 and also of Boultham Park Road, Lincoln, was arrested and charged with permitting the production of cannabis at an address.

Both men have been released on police bail and will appear at Lincoln Magistrates Court on 3 January 2014.

Appeal Following Bradford Car Crash

West Yorkshire Police has issued an appeal for information after a vehicle failed to stop at the scene of a road traffic collision in Bradford.

The vehicle, which is understood to be a blue Vauxhall Astra, was involved in a collision with a motorcycle at the junction of Seymour Street and Leeds Road. The accident occurred around 5.25pm on Monday.

Following the incident, the car was seen heading towards the city centre before turning right towards Barkerend. Police have said the vehicle will have sustained some front end damage and was believed to have been driven by an Asian male.

The motorcyclist, a 42-year-old woman, was taken to hospital with suspected injuries to her leg and hand.

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Trevor Brown at the Western Area Roads Policing Unit on 101.

Man Robbed Outside His Home

A man has been robbed outside his home in Crowborough, Sussex.

The incident, which happened around 4.25am this morning (10 December), saw a 47-year-old man attacked by two men outside a house in Ghyll Road as he was leaving for work.

The men, who later fled the scene on foot, stole a bag containing several hundred pounds of cash as well as the victim's Rolex watch.

The victim was taken to Pembury Hospital to be treated for an arm injury.

Both men are described as white. One was about 5'5", of stocky build and balding.

No weapons or vehicles were seen.

Detective Constable Richard Holder asked for anyone who was in Crowborough in the early hours of Tuesday morning and saw any suspicious activity to contact the force on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Two Teenagers Arrested Over West Lothian Body Find
West Lothian Police investigating the discovery of a man's body on Wednesday night have arrested two 18-year-old men. Police say that the body of a 31-year-old was found at a house in Marmion Road in Bathgate at about 17:40 on Wednesday. The death is being treated as "unexplained". Police say the investigation is ongoing.

Seven Injured In Police Van Collision
A police van transporting a suspect has collided with a car in Sheffield, injuring seven people. South Yorkshire Police say the incident, which happened on Abbeydale Road at about 23:30 on Sunday, involved a police van and a red Peugeot 207.

Two Men Arrested Over Merseyside PC Road Death
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a police officer was struck and killed on Monday during a car pursuit in Merseyside. Constable Dave Philips, 34, died from internal injuries after being hit by a pick-up vehicle that mounted a central reservation in Wallasey on Monday.
