Mother Of Mikaeel Kular Charged With Murder

Rosdeep Kular has been charged with the murder of her three-year-old Mikaeel at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.

Prosecuors say she has also been charged with attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

The body of Mikaeel Kular was found on Friday night about 20 miles from his home in Edinburgh. He had been reported missing on Wednesday morning, with his mother claiming he had not been seen since he had been put to bed the previous night. His body was found in woodland behind a property on Dunvegan Avenue in Kirkcaldy, Fife.

33-year-old Rosdeep was detained by police investigation her sons disappearance ahead of being formally charged on Saturday.

Forensic teams have been continuing to search the house in Fife, which is understood to belong to a relative of Rosdeep Kular, and been the residence of her and her five children.

The investigation is ongoing.
