Man Shot In Essex Train Station Car Park

An investigation has been launched into an early morning shooting at a railway station in Essex.

A man in his 40s is being treated for a gunshot wound to the leg, British Transport Police (BTP) have reported.

It is understood that reports of a man with leg injuries were received by BTP just before 06:00.

The man's injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Anglia Trains have said that trains will continue to run through the station but will not be stopping.

BTP Try To Establish Identity Of Woman Killed By Train
British Transport Police (BTP) are trying to establish the identity of a woman who died on Wednesday morning after being hit by a train. BTP said the woman died after being hit by a train near Dingle Road station just before 06:00 this morning. Her body was taken to University Hospital of Wales were a post-mortem is due to be carried out.

Suspicious death at West Yorkshire railway station
A railway station in West Yorkshire has been closed following the discovery of a man's body in the car park. Police were called to Fitzwilliam Train Station at Fitzwilliam in Pontefract just before 1:45am where the body was found. The man was taken to Pontefract General Infirmary where he was pronounced dead.

Second Man Bailed In Sydenham Murder
A week on from the murder of a 24-year-old man in Sydenham, detectives are continuing to appeal for witnesses to come forward. Detectives and local officers were at the scene of the murder of Samuel Guidera on Saturday night handing out leaflets to the public, in the hope that they jog someone's memory.

Fresh Appeal Over Manchester Rape
Greater Manchester Police have launched a fresh appeal for information over the rape of a young woman in Beswick earlier this year. The incident happened at Ashton Old Road between 3:15am and 8:30am on April 11. The 23-year-old victim had been with friends at Piccadilly Train Station hour earlier and was intoxicated.

Apology Over Armed Cop's Blunder
An innocent train passenger who was wrongly tackled by armed police and ordered to lie face-down on a railway station platform has been given an apology. Armed officers from Dorset swooped on the Bournemouth station just before 6pm on Saturday after receiving a tip-off that an armed robbery suspect was on a train.
