River Severn Reaches Record High
The Environment Agency has reported that the River Severn in Worchester has reached record levels of almost 19ft.
Measured at 5am this morning in the city's Barbourne area the water reached 18ft 7in (5.67m)
The agency said they expected the river to peak at 19ft (5.8m) later today but added that they were not concerned about the water breaching Worcester's flood defences.
22 flood warning are currently in place across Worcestershire and Herefordshire. It is understood that the city's council is now on "emergency footing", which means that it will refocus some resources in preparation for when the water levels begin to fall.

Burst Water Main Causes Chaos
A burst water main has caused considerable flooding in Glasgow. A statement from Scottish Water said: "An issue with a faulty valve which regulates pressure has resulted in burst water mains in Mount Stuart Street, Shawlands; Cowcaddens and Duke St at the junction of East Wellington Street and Shettleston Road.
