Somerset Levels Flood Car Scrapped After Auction Bids Found To Be Fake

Bids on a charity auction for a car submerged on the Somerset Levels have been revealed as hoaxes.

The Seat Toledo was submerged for weeks during flooding, but the car's owner, 21-year-old Hubert Zajaczkowski, listed the car on eBay, in an effort to raise money for victims of the floods.

Despite being described as "unbelievably disgusting", the car received 24 bids in three days, closing with a winning bid of £101,100.

However, the none of the bids were genuine and the car has now been scrapped.

Magistrate To Be Investigated Over AK-47 Pose Picture

An investigation has been launched after a Derby City Councillor magistrate posted pictures of himself posing with an AK-47 to Twitter.

Ajit Atwal has been suspended while the photos are investigated.

It is understood that Mr Atwal has apologised for the photo but has not commented further.

Over £40,000 Donated To Chosen Charity Of Marathon Runner Who Died At Finish Line

The National Osteoporosis Society has received more than £40,000 in donations in memory of 42-year-old Robert Berry, who died shortly after completing the London Marathon.

Mr Berry collapsed at the finish line on Sunday, and died a short time later.

He had been running to raise money for the charity and his JustGiving page has received more than 2,500 donations.

Banksy Street Works To Be Sold At Auction
A collection of seven works by graffiti artist Banksy, all removed from from public walls, is to be put on display at a London hotel before being put up for auction. The exhibition and and auction is being organised by the Sincura Group, a "company commissioned with the removal and sale of Banksy Street Art".

Children Died In Car With 'Incompetent' Modifications
A Lincolnshire father who crashed his Land Rover into a river, killing four of his seven children, has gone on trial today. Nigel Gresham, 37, from Chapel Hill in Lincolnshire, appeared at Lincoln Crown Court today causing the deaths of Willow, two, Angel, four, Thor, six and eight-year-old Keavy on September 16, last year.
