Divers Guilty Of Not Declaring Valuable Items From Shipwrecks
Two divers from Kent have pleaded guilty to not declaring valuable items from shipwrecks off the UK coast.
David Knight and Edward Huzzey, both from Sandgate, admitted to 19 offences between them, contrary to section 236 and section 237 of the Merchant Shipping Act 1995.
Items were taken from shipwrecks off the Kent coast, with the first known objects removed in 2001. The shipwrecks targeted included German submarines from World War I and an unknown 200 year old wreck carrying English East India Company cargo.
The items included 8 bronze cannons, 3 propellers from German submarines, lead and tin ingots, along with various other artefacts. It's thought the combined value of the items is worth more than £250,000.
The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) is aware from diary entries that Knight and Huzzey used explosives and sophisticated cutting equipment to free wreck material.
Sentencing is t take place on 2 July 2014.

Rise In Antidepressant Prescriptions
There has been an increase in antidepressant prescriptions, with them accounting for largest annual rise in items dispensed in the community. Just under 46.7 million prescriptions for antidepressants were dispensed in England in 2011; a 3.9 million item (9.1 per cent) increase on 2010.

Stuffed Tiger Seized
Police have seized a stuffed adult tiger from a central London studio which is believed to have been touted for an illegal sale. A 47-year-old man was also arrested after officers became aware of the planned sale of the animal, which was once used by the late fashion designer Alexander McQueen in a photoshoot.

Flypast Marks 75th Anniversary Of Battle Of Britain
Up to 40 Spitfire and Hurricane aeroplanes have participated in a flypast to mark the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. It is understood that it was the largest grouping of the planes since World War Two. The Battle of Britain, which saw the RAF engage German Luftwaffe, has been described as "a key moment in UK history".
