Stabbed Teacher Anne Maguire Funeral Held
A service in honour of Ann Maguire, who was stabbed to death in front of her pupils at a school in Leeds last month, has taken place.
Her family, as well as staff and a small number of pupils attended the ceremony at the Catholic Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, in Moortown.
Mrs Maguire, 61, suffered a fatal stab wound in the neck. A 15-year-old pupil at the school was responsible for the attack at Corpus Christi Catholic College. Mrs Maguire, who leaves behind a husband and two grown up daughters, had taught at the school for more than 40 years and was due to retire in September.
The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is expected to stand trial for the murder in November.
