Police Continue To Question Teen After Teacher Is Fatally Stabbed

Police investigating the murder of Leeds schoolteacher Ann Maguire are continuing to question a 15-year-old boy today.

Detective Superintendent Simon Beldon, who is leading the investigation, said: "The suspect remains in custody and will continue to be interviewed today. Last night we were granted an extension by magistrates which has given us additional time to question him today.

"Our enquiries are ongoing and we are still in the process of interviewing a number of pupils who witnessed the incident."

The victim was fatally stabbed by the teenager in front of pupils at Corpus Christi Catholic College on Monday.

Miles Cooper, understood to be in his twenties, was arrested at his home in Cherry Hinton near Cambridge on Monday. He is being held at an undisclosed police station.

Police continue to question man over 1975 murder
Police are continuing to hold a man in connection with the murder of 11-year-old schoolgirl Lesley Molseed more than 30 years ago. The 53-year-old man from Oldham was arrested on Sunday in connection with the murder. Lesley disappeared from her home in Rochdale on October 5, 1975, after leaving to go to local shops on an errand for her mother.
