Police Concludes McCann Search In Scrubland

Forensic teams investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann in the scrubland of Praia da Luz in Portugal ceased their search on Sunday, it has been revealed.

The team halted operations without having uncovered any significant new clues, but later asked local authorities to lengthen the search time.

Although the first search in the area has been closed down and cordons have been taken away, the operation is due to begin again on Wednesday in two new areas, following a two-day pause due to a Portuguese national holiday.

Portuguese officers have announced that several suspects are likely to be interviewed in a short time.

Portuguese and British officers employed a variety of techniques in the search, including the use of ground-penetrating radar, mini cameras and sniffer dogs.
