Girl Dies After Car 'Mounts' Pavement

A teenage girl has died after a car mounted the pavement as she was walking to school in Oxfordshire.

Two other schoolgirls and a male pedestrian were also injured in the incident in Witney.

The 18-year-old driver has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

The crash happened at around 8am this morning on the Curbridge Road.

One of the girls is believed to have suffered series injuries and is being treated at the John Radcliffe Hospital.

The man is understood to have a serious hip injury.

According to reports the incident happened at The Common in Stanmore, at around midday on Wednesday. Appeal Following Fatal Crash In Rotherham
Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in the Maltby area of Rotherham. A silver Rover 45 and a silver Mercedes estate car were involved in a head-on collision on the A631 Tickhill Road at Maltby on Sunday 17 May. The driver of the Rover, an 88-year-old man, was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Teenage Girl Charged With Murder Of 35-Year-Old Man
A 15-year-old girl has been charged with the murder of 35-year-old man Mark Roberts. Mr Roberts (35) was found suffering head injuries on Balidon Road, Weston-super-Mare in October. He later died in hospital. The teenage girl was remanded in custody to appear before North Somerset Magistrates' Court.

Toddler mauled by dog
A three-year-old girl has reportedly suffered serious head injuries after being attacked by a dog. The child is believed to have been attacked by a Doberman in the garden of a house in Claverdon in Warwickshire. She has been airlifted to Heartlands Hospital in Birmingham for treatment.
