Appeal Following Fatal Crash In Rotherham

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in the Maltby area of Rotherham.

A silver Rover 45 and a silver Mercedes estate car were involved in a head-on collision on the A631 Tickhill Road at Maltby on Sunday 17 May.

The driver of the Rover, an 88-year-old man, was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

It is believed he may have taken ill at the wheel.

The driver of the Mercedes, a 74-year-old man, was taken to hospital and is being treated for serious injuries. Two passengers, a 70-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl suffered slight injuries.

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

Fourth Arrest Over Biker Murder
A fourth man has been arrested in connection with the murder of biker Gerard Tobin. Mr Tobin, 35, of south London was shot dead as he travelled home on the M40 from the Bulldog Bash bikers' festival at Long Marston near Stratford, Warwickshire on August 12.

Teenager Dies In Car Crash
An 18-year-old man has died and three people have been injured in a car accident in Cornwall. The head-on crash involved a Rover Mini, a Renault Scenic and a Volkswagon Polo on the B3274 at Winnards Perch, at approximately 10.20pm last night. The driver of the Mini, a man from the Padstow area, died from his injuries.

Appeal For 'Kind' Mersey Taxi Driver
Detectives are appealing for a taxi driver who took a seriously injured man to hospital in Liverpool at the weekend to come forward. Police said they believe the taxi driver may be able to help them piece together how the 29-year-old victim came to suffer serious head injuries.

Major Police Hunt Launched After Boy Taken From Hospital
A major police hunt has begun after a five-year-old boy with a brain tumour, was taken by his family without consent from Southampton General Hospital. Police said that Ashya King was taken from the hospital by Brett King, 51, and Naghemeh King, 45, on Thursday. It is thought he may have been taken to France.

FBU Vow To Fight Firefighters Dismissal Over Strike Action
