Body Recovered In Missing Canoeist Search

A body has been recovered by police in a search for a missing canoeist in Edinburgh.

A major search operation was launched on Saturday evening for 29-year-old Darren Gilpin, when his boat capsized in the Killin area.

Mr Gilpin and a second man had been out in the boat when the incident happened.

The second man, who has not been named, made it to shore and raised the alarm.

Shoreline patrols and a search and rescue helicopter were launched in a search for Mr Gilpin.

Police reported on Sunday evening that they had recovered a body.

Police said formal identification was yet to be made but the search had been ended.

Body Recovered In Search For 17-Year-Old
The body of 17-year-old male has been recovered from a canal in Hackney. It is understood that the teenager entered the water near Lea Bridge Road after running away from police on Wednesday afternoon. Police had been searching for the teenager after being called to a report of concern for his welfare.

Body Recovered In Search Following Mill Explosion
Rescue workers searching for four people missing since an explosion and fire at Wood Flour Mills, in Bosley, near Macclesfield, have recovered a body. Dorothy Bailey, 62, William Barks, 51, Jason Shingler, 38, and Derek Moore, 62, have not been seen since the blast on Friday.

Body Recovered From Sea In Search For Missing Teen
Police investigating the disappearance of 14-year-old Hollie McClymont have confirmed a body has been recovered from the sea. The body has not yet been identified but it is understood that Hollie's parents have been told about the discovery and searches are now over.
