Source Of Athletes Village Bug Identified

The source of a suspected norovirus outbreak at the Commonwealth Games athletes village has been identified as a temporary facility used for security.

Scotland's First Minister Alex Salmond confirmed that the source had been found, the area cleared, cleaned and measures taken to contain the problem.

Some 32 cases of the bug have been confirmed, but it is understood that no athletes have been affected by the illness.

Minister Salmond said: "It was an environmental cause. It was a temporary facility in the construction of the security area. It wasn't as it should be and now it has been rectified and sorted."
