Moving Trident Subs 'Difficult But Not Impossible'

A study looking at if and how to move Trident nuclear submarines out of an independent Scotland has found that it would be "very difficult but not impossible".

Relocating the submarines would also be cheaper than previously thought, the report by the Royal United Services Institute (Rusi) has found.

However, it did also say that building a base suitable for the submarines could take up to 10 years.

It is understood that the SNP have called for the removal of the nuclear weapons within four years, should Scotland become independent.
