Body Believed To Be Jordon Roberts Found In River Wear

A body has been found in the River Wear, County Durham, believed to be missing teenager Jordon Roberts.

Jordon, 17, got into difficulty after entering the water on Monday with his two brothers and a family friend at the river near Finchale Abbey.

The friend pulled one of the brothers out of the water, however he was unable to reach Jordon.

A major search was launched.

No formal identification has taken place.

Superintendent Andy Huddleston, of Durham Constabulary, said: "Jordan's family have been informed of the development and we are continuing to support them through this difficult time."

Man Remanded Over Death Collision
A man charged with causing the death of a father-of-two, has been remanded in custody. Bryan Hardwick, 26, was returning home with his son, daughter and a family friend on Saturday, 11 October after collecting conkers. A Rover 45 vehicle ran him over on the A688 at Bishop Auckland, Co Durham.

Toddler Escapes 'Serious Injury' After Falling Into Drain
A three-year-old girl has escaped serious injury after being swept 150ft along an underground storm drain in Co Durham. The toddler was playing with her father and family dog in a deep puddle at a playground in Riverside Park, Chester-le-Street, when the accident happened.
