UK Unemployment At Six Year Low

UK unemployment has fallen below two million for the first since 2008, the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) reveal.

In the three months to August this year unemployment fell by 154,000, the ONS figures showing that the rate now stands at 1.97 million, or 6%.

The new drop brings the total reduction for the year to 538,000, marking the largest annual reduction since records began.

The figures also show that the employment rate now stands at 73%, just 0.2% below its all-time high.

ONS Figures Reveal Unemployment At Seven Year Low
The latest figures from the Office for National Statistics(ONS) have revealed that unemployment in the Uk is at a seven year low. The number of those out of work fell by 35,000 between January and March, now totalling 1.83 million. In the same period the number of people in work rose to 31.

ONS Figures Show Fall In Jobless Total
According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), the total number of unemployed now stands at 2.49 million, after falling by 18,000 in the period of June-August. However, the unemployment rate remains unchanged at 7.7% when compared to the previous three month period.
