25-Year-Old Woman Arrested In Syria-Related Investigation

Police have arrested a 25-year-old woman in Bedfordshire on suspicion of "preparation of terrorist acts".

It is understood that the arrest was made as part of an ongoing investigation "related to Syria", police said.

Two addresses in Bedfordshire are being searched as part of the same operation.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police's SO15 Counter Terrorism Command are leading the investigation.

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the rape of 12-year-old girl in east London. Three males lead the girl to a "secluded" end of a street in Walthamstow at around 00:15 on Saturday before two of them attacked her, held her down and raped her.

Investigation Launched After Death Of Woman Following Bus Fall
A woman has died in hospital after falling on a route E3 bus on Chiswick High Road, just after 13:30 on Tuesday, 18 August. The 77-year-old woman was taken to hospital by ambulance, where she was pronounced dead shortly before 17:00.

Seven Arrested In Two Terrorism Investigations
Police have arrested seven men in separate investigations into Syria-related terrorism offences. A 25-year-old man was detained by West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit at an address in Billesley, Birmingham at about 07:00 on Wednesday morning.

Body Found In Flat 'Dead For Years'
The body of a man who is believed to have been dead for a number of years has been discovered in a flat in Bristol. The corpse, understood to be that of the former tenant of the flat, was found on a sofa in the lounge by council workers, following reports from neighbours about a foul smell. The dead man is believed to have been a man in his 70s.
