Three Surfers Die Following Incident At Cornwall Beach

Lifeguard cover at a beach in Cornwall is to be reviewed after three people died while surfing in what is believed to be an unprotected area on Sunday.

Two men and a woman died after they were airlifted to hospital from Mawgan Porth beach.

Four children, believed to be teenagers, were also rescued.

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) said that lifeguards patrol the beach from May to September and this is clearly shown on signs located at the beach.

A spokesperson confirmed to Sky News that a risk assessment would be carried out with other rescue services and lifeguard patrol may be extended into the autumn half-term holiday.
