Man Bitten By Dogs In Sussex

Police have appealed for information after a man was bitten by two dogs near Willingdon golf course.

The incident happened at around 10.30am on 25 September, but was not immediately reported to the police. It is understood the man was walking his dog at the time. When two other dogs tried to get at his dog, he picked up his pet, but suffered two deep bites to his stomach.

He called for the owner – another man – to control his dogs, which have been described as small to medium sized, possibly wire haired terriers or bichon frise type, but the dogs leapt up and bit him.

The man shouted at his dogs, calling one of them 'Miche' and then apologised to the victim before disappearing into nearby woods.

Police are trying to trace the man. He is described as white, 6' 2" to 6' 4", of medium build with grey hair and a grey beard. He was wearing a grey tracksuit and spoke with a local accent.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.
