Body Found Is Missing Mother Charlotte Bevan

A body found in the search for a missing mother and her baby has been officially identified as Charlotte Bevan.

Ms Bevan's body was discovered at the Avon Gorge on Wednesday.

Ms Bevan went missing from Bristol's St Michael's Hospital on Tuesday with her four-day-old baby daughter.

She was not wearing a coat or shoes and was wearing hospital slippers at the time. Her baby was wrapped in blankets.

A police statement said: "An intensive search operation is still under way in the Avon Gorge area involving police, Avon Search and Rescue, mountain rescue volunteers and the police helicopter.

"Our thoughts remain with Charlotte's family and partner Pascal."

NHS Launches Review After Deaths Of Mother And Daughter
The NHS is to conduct a review after the body of a baby girl who went missing with her mother was found by police in Bristol. The body of Zaani Tiana Bevan Malbrouck was discovered at Avon Gorge on Thursday night, near to where her mother Charlotte Bevan's body was also discovered on Wednesday.

Life For Gardening Murderer
A gardener has been jailed for life after being found guilty of the murder of 54-year-old Lynda Casey from Coulsdon in Surrey. Ms Casey's body was found by police search teams in an area of Banstead Woods in Surrey known as Great Solom’s Wood on 13 August 2009. A post mortem examination showed she had suffered multiple head injuries.

Search extended in baby bodies’ case
Police have confirmed that they have been granted more time to question the woman at the centre of an investigation into the discovery of the remains of three dead babies. Anne Mahoney (64), from Forsythia Close on the Gurnos estate in Merthyr Tydfil was arrested after police found the body of a baby in her former home.

Homophobic Killer Gets Life
A man who carried out a brutal attack on a gay couple in south London has been imprisoned for life. One of the men was killed and the other seriously injured when they were set upon by 46-year-old David Kilcullen. Kilcullen entered the couple's home in Bromley with the intension of committing a robbery.
