Man Sets Up Bin Collection Service After Council Cuts

A man in Greater Manchester has established his own bin collection service after the local council cut the number of collections.

Last October Bury Council reduced bin collection to once every three weeks, the first UK council to do so.

Now, Craig Lavelle, from Worsley, has set up his own domestic collection service, which will take away rubbish for £8.45 per week.

Speaking to BBC Radio Manchester, Mr Lavelle said: "I have got four children and know how full the bin can get after only a week.

"[With] three-weekly collections some people will be struggling and I feel there is a business opportunity here."
