Bodies Recovered In Missing Trawler Search

Two bodies have been recovered from the sea in a search for a missing fishing trawler and its four crew members.

An air and sea rescue operation was launched on Wednesday afternoon when the vessel was lost in rough seas and gale force winds.

The search ended in the early hours of Thursday morning and resumed again at 10am yesterday.

It is understood two bodies were found in the sea off Boulogne and have been recovered back to the French port.

The RNLI said that officially the recovery operation is now in French territorial waters, but as it is an "ongoing and sensitive operation", its lifeboats could be sent back out today to offer assistance.
