Police Appeal For Information On Security Firm Robbery

Police Scotland are searching for those responsible for a robbery at cash transit and security firm, Loomis, on Thursday of last week.

It is understood a "high five-figure sum" was stolen in cash from Souterhead Road in Altens.

Police believe at least three vehicles – a blue Mini, a white Land Rover Freelander and a black Hyundai ix35 - were involved in the robbery.

Anyone who was in the area and noticed anything suspicious is asked to contact police.

A private security firm has put up a reward of £10,000 for information leading to the prosecution of robbers who stole from guards in Leeds last month. Two guards were delivering money to cash machines at Sainbury's in Moor Allerton at around 4.30pm on Tuesday 10 November, when they were set upon.

Raiders Attack Police With Sledgehammer In Foiled Cash Machine Robbery
A police officer has been treated in hospital after being attacked with a sledgehammer. Police say that the 41-year-old officer was responding to a report of a cash machine robbery at a Tesco Express store in Sandwell.
