Masreen Akhtar Murder To Be Reviewed

A new review is to be carried out into the unsolved murder of 29-year-old Masreen Akhtar, in March 1995.

Thames Valley Police's major crime investigation review team are to re-examine the case 20 years after Ms Akhtar died.

It is understood that two of Ms Akhtar's children found her body in their family home when they returned from school. She had been strangled.

Ms Ahktar's husband, Harim Khan, was charged with her murder but acquitted at trial.

Thames Valley Police said: "Those who found it difficult to talk to the police at the time may now be able to."

Two Dead In M40 Crash
Thames Valley Police have confirmed the deaths of two people in a crash on the M40 in Buckinghamshire. Police have said that two cars collided on the westbound carriageway between junction 2 for Beaconsfield and junction 3 for Loudwater just after 05:00 on Friday morning.

Royal 'Rush' Investigated By Police
Claims are being investigated into a Royal convoy speeding to get Prince Harry to a nightclub. It is alleged that Royal protection officers "put lives at risk" by "driving recklessly at 100mph". Company Director Tim Williams, 33, claimed he was "tailgated" by a royal convoy and was forced to speed to get 'out of the way' at 70 mph.

Man arrested after revealing bodies to police
A 53-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after turning up at a police station and revealing the location of two bodies. The man walked in to Luton police station around 4am on Friday morning and revealed that a woman's body was in a van parked outside and a man's body was at an address in Aylesbury.

Man Sought Over Motorway Services Assault On 10-Year-Old Boy
Thames Valley Police have appealed for information on a man they wish to speak in connection with a sexual assault at a motorway services. Police said that a 10-year-old boy was in the toilets of Cherwell Services on the M40 when a man "touched him over his clothing". The incident happened at about 15:00 on Sunday, 23 August.
