Man Arrested Over Serious Car Park Assault

A man is in a serious condition in hospital following an altercation in a snooker club car park in Wirral.

Police are appealing for witnesses of an alleged fight in the car park at Riley's snooker club on Argyle Street at about 22:20 on Wednesday night.

Police were called to the scene following reports that a man had been knocked unconscious.

Upon arrival, a man was found lying on the group with a head injury with a group of men standing nearby arguing.

After speaking to the group of men, a 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault.

He has been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.

Police said that they are keen to trace independent witnesses to the incident. Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101, Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Man Arrested Over Assaults On Suspected Paedophiles
Greater Manchester Police have arrested a man in connection with alleged assaults on two suspected paedophiles. It is understood that a man described as a "vigilante paedophile hunter" has been arrested in connection with assaults on two men in separate incidents on Friday and Saturday.

British Man Dies In Dubai Police Custody
A British man has died in police custody in Dubai. Lee Bradley Brown, 39, from east London, died on Tuesday after he was taken to a Dubai police station where he was allegedly assaulted and put into a cell. It has been reported that Mr Brown, was arrested over a row at the luxury hotel Burj Al Arab hotel.

Man Arrested Over Kent Doctor's Murder
A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a doctor in Kent. Consultant paediatrician Dr Victoria Anyetei, 54, was found in her car in the driveway of her home in Dartford on August 14. She had been stabbed to death. Kent Police said that the man was arrested on suspicion of murder at an address in Dartford.

Police Appeal For Witnesses To Fatal Car Park Accident
A two-year-old girl has died after being hit by a car in a north-west London supermarket car park. Police have appealed for witnesses. Metropolitan Police has said that the child was hit by a vehicle in the car park of Asda in Forty Lane, Wembley. She was treated by paramedics but later died in hospital.

Two more arrested over attempted car bombings
Police investigating the attempted car bombings in London and Glasgow airport have arrested two more people. Two men, aged 28 and 25, were arrested in the Paisley area, west of Glasgow on Sunday night Five people are still being held in connection with the attacks, but it is believed that at least one suspect remains on the run.
