Four Injured In Alton Towers Crash
Four people have been injured in a roller-coaster crash at Alton Towers in Staffordshire.
The incident occurred between two carriages on The Smiler ride at approximately 2pm.
Sixteen people were on one carriage while the other was empty.
Emergency services have attended the scene.
The company which operates the park, Merlin Entertainment, said in a statement: "There has been an incident on the Smiler this afternoon involving two carriages coming together on a low section of the track.
"The Resort's fully qualified First Responders were on the scene immediately to assist with the evacuation which is ongoing, and the area has been closed to allow for access to emergency services vehicles.
"To ensure the safe and timely evacuation of guests a platform is being constructed. This will take a few minutes but will enable us to proceed more quickly.
"There will be a full investigation once we have recovered the guests who are our priority."
Two Men Arrested After Prison Murder
Two men have been arrested after a 25-year-old inmate died at HMP Long Lartin in Worcestershire.
John York was found seriously injured in a cell after an alleged encounter with two other prisoners.
He was pronounced dead by paramedics at approximately 5pm on 31 May.
Two men, aged 30 and 46, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.
Detective Inspector Mark Bellamy said: "We are currently working to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the death of Mr John York and our priority is to ensure those responsible are brought to swift justice"
Man Charged Over Stabbing Death
A 39-year-old man has been charged with murder after the death of another man in Nottingham.
Jonathan Jones of Barbury Drive, Clifton, is due to appear at Nottingham magistrates' court
Police were called to Hedderley Walk at approximately 4.15pm on 31 May after receiving reports of a stabbing incident.
The 43-year-old victim, John Parker, was taken to Queen's Medical centre but died shortly after arriving.
A post-mortem examination confirmed Mr Parker died from a single stab round to the neck.
A 35-year-old woman who was arrested on suspicion of GBH related to an earlier incident involving the victim, has been bailed pending further enquiries.
A 14-year-old boy who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released without charge.
Police want to trace the occupants of a silver Ford Focus seen in the area at the time of the incident.
It is believed the occupants might have vital information.

Man Arrested After Man Falls From Cliff
A man in his 20s has been arrested after the other man he was climbing with fell to his death from a coastal cliff in North Yorkshire. A 51-year-old man fell at Kettleness Point on Friday, according to North Yorkshire Police. The man has been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Fatally Tasered Barrow Man Named
A man has died after being Tasered by police in Barrow, Cumbria. Officers were called to Hartingdon Street around 6:30pm on Tuesday, following reports of a disturbance. They arrested a man in his 20s on suspicion of causing criminal damage and, during the arrest, a Taser was used. The man has now been named locally as Dale Burns.

Man Arrested Following Stabbing Incident
A man has been arrested after a woman in her 40s and two teenage girls were stabbed at a house in Little Green Lane, Small Heath, Birmingham in a suspected domestic incident. The police were called by a resident who reported hearing screams from the house at around 7.20am.
