Two More Arrested In Jordan Watson Murder Investigation

Police investigating the murder of 14-year-old Jordan Watson have made two further arrests.

A 19-year-old was arrested on Thursday afternoon, followed by the arrest of a 16-year-old on Thursday evening. Both suspects are from Carlisle.

They join an 18-year-old arrested on Wednesday in connection with the murder. All three remain in custody.

The body of Jordan Watson was found by a member of the public at 7.46am on Tuesday in the cemetery on Manor Road, Carlisle.

He died from neck and head wounds caused by a sharp implement in what was described as "a savage and brutal attack".

Police investigations are still ongoing and detectives have asked for anyone with information to contact North Cumbria CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Eight Men Arrested Following Dawn Raids
Over 100 police officers have carried out a series of raids concerning child sexual exploitation offences in Oxford. Eight men were arrested following the raids at 6am this morning 2 June. Police are investigating approximately 60 offences in connection with the operation relating to female victims in Oxford between 1999 and 2007.

French Police Arrest Convicted On-The-Run Rapist
A 56-year-old convicted rapist who went on the run before his trial has been captured in France. Police in Calais arrested George Doulat, from Filey, North Yorkshire, on Monday. In his absence, Doulat was convicted at Bradford Crown Court for the rape, attempted rape and sexual assault of a 19-year-old woman in 2012. He was sentenced to 10 years.

Man Arrested For House Death In Carlisle
A man found dead at his home in Stonegarth, Carlisle is Karl Celmins, police have confirmed. He was discovered by a member of the public on 26 April around 7.30pm. Results from a post mortem show that Mr Celmins, 46, suffered "pressure to his neck".
