Man Admits Owning Dog That Killed Grandmother

A man has admitted owning a dog which fatally attacked his grandmother at their home in Cardiff.

Rhona Greve, 64, died after suffering neck and face injuries during the attack in March.

Craig Greve, 23, pleaded guilty at Cardiff Crown Court to owning the dog.

Mr Greve was remanded in custody until sentencing in September.

Dog Owning Attacker Guilty Of Murder
A dog owner who ordered his pet to attack a 16-year-old boy before stabbing him has been convicted of murder. Crisdian Johnson, 22, of Quinton House, Wyvil Road, was charged on 30 April 2009 with the murder of Oluwaseyi 'Seyi' Ogunyemi, 16. The victim was known to family and friends as Seyi - pronounced 'Shay'.

Uncle pleads guilty to owning killer dog
The uncle of a five-year-old girl who was mauled to death by a pit bull terrier has pleaded guilty to owning a dangerous dog. Ellie Lawrenson died after being attacked by the dog at her grandmother, Jacqueline Simpson's home in St Helens, Merseyside, in the early hours of New Year's Day. She suffered fatal head and neck injuries in the attack.

Twenty Dogs Die In East Yorkshire House Fire
Humberside Fire and Rescue have confirmed that twenty dogs have died in a fire in East Yorkshire. It is understood that a fire broke out at the home of a private dog breeder on Graingers Road, Hornsea, at about 19:00 on Saturday.

Owners To Face Longer Sentences Over Dog Attacks
Irresponsible dog owners who allow their dog to attack people or assistance dogs will face tougher prison sentences from today, Tuesday. Changes to the Dangerous Dogs Act will also mean dog owners can now face prosecution if their dog attacks a person in their home or on any private property, except if they attack a trespasser.
