Man Dies Following Police Pursuit In Kent

A man has died following a police pursuit in Kent.

The victim, who was in his 40's, was killed after his vehicle crashed in Maidstone Road, Rochester just before 7pm on 25 July.

He had previously failed to stop for officers in Delce Road.

The road was closed for several hours following the accident.

Kent Police said officers from the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) attended the incident.

Man Arrested Over Kent Doctor's Murder
A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a doctor in Kent. Consultant paediatrician Dr Victoria Anyetei, 54, was found in her car in the driveway of her home in Dartford on August 14. She had been stabbed to death. Kent Police said that the man was arrested on suspicion of murder at an address in Dartford.

Kent Police, in partnership with officers from the Metropolitan Police Service, have arrested two men in East London on suspicion of conspiracy to commit armed robbery. On 3 May, Kent Police began a search for Michael Wheatley, 55, who had failed to return to HMP Standford Hill after being released on temporary licence.

Man Dies In London Blaze
A man has died following a blaze at a block of flats in south-east London. Firefighters found the man collapsed on the fourth floor of the seven floor building at 11.30pm on Tuesday. London Fire Brigage (LFB) said that three engines and around 15 firefighters were deployed to tackle the fire at the building in Steadman Street, Walworth, Southwark.

Police To Face Charges Over Detainees Death
Two Kent Police officers are to be charged after a man died while police were restraining him. Pc Maurice Leigh and Pc Neil Bowdery are to be prosecuted for misconduct in public office following the death of Colin Holt on 30 August.

‘Piano Man’ returns home to Germany
The mysterious ‘Piano Man’ has been identified and has been discharged from hospital, it has emerged. West Kent NHS and Social Care Trust, which had been caring for the man since April, confirmed that he had been discharged from their care following a “marked improvement” in his condition.
