Appeal Issued Over Injured Woman Found In New Cross

Police have appealed for witnesses after a woman was found in New Cross suffering head and facial injuries.

It is understood that the 19-year-old woman sustained the injuries at about 03:30 on Sunday, 26 July, having left a venue in New Cross.

She was taken by London Ambulance Service to a south London hospital and has since been discharged from hospital. Officers were informed of the incident and the woman’s injuries after she had attended hospital.

Two woman, aged 35 and 38, have been interviewed under caution about how the woman sustained her injuries.

Detectives continue to appeal for information and witnesses. They are in the early stages of their investigation and retain an open mind in regards to the circumstances which led to the woman sustaining head and facial injuries.

They are keen to hear from anyone who was in the venue or the surrounding vicinity between 23:50hrs on Saturday, 25 July and 03:35hrs on Sunday, 26 July, who may have information as to how the woman may have sustained her injuries. Any information provided will be treated in the strictest of confidence.

Woman Discovered With Fatal Injuries Named As Concert Pianist
A woman discovered with fatal injuries in Manchester has been named by police. The body of 38-year-old Natalia Strelle was found with serious head injuries on Sunday, 30 August in Newton Heath. Woman Found With 'Series Of Injuries'
Police in the Forth Valley are appealing for witnesses after a woman was found in a wooded area of Bannockburn with a number of unexplained injuries. It is believed that the 30-year-old woman suffered the injuries sometime between 22:00 on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 April in or around Balfour Street and Randolph Crescent.

Church Asked To Support Fast-Track Women Bishops Law
The first woman bishop in the Church of England could be appointed by Christmas. The general synod supports the legislation to fast-track the revision of the latest proposals and to reduce the time given to individual dioceses. This could lead to a final vote in July with the legislation approved by November.

Disabled Woman Found Dead In Car
A disabled woman found stabbed to death in her car near her home in Harlow, Essex, has been named. Jennifer Macaree was discovered in Hadley Grange on the outskirts of Harlow early on Saturday. Essex Police confirmed she was in the driver's seat of her black Vauxhall Corsa in a parking area near her flat shortly after 3am.

Baby Death Mother Named
The British woman charged with causing the death of her newborn baby in a hotel room in Crete has been named. Leah Andrew, from London, has been charged with infantide after being arrested in Malia on Tuesday. Ms Andrew was rushed to hospital by local residents after giving birth alone in her room.
