Police Appeal For Witnesses To Leeds Armed Robbery

West Yorkshire Police have issued an appeal for witnesses to the armed robbery of a supermarket petrol station in Leeds.

On Monday, 27 July, a man armed with a screwdriver forced his way into the petrol station as a female member of staff was locking up. The man held the screwdriver to the woman's neck and demanded money.

The attacker escaped with a substantial amount of money.

He is described as white, aged in his late 20s to early 30s, about 5ft 8ins tall and slim. He had fair or ginger hair and blotchy skin with acne scarring around his eyes.

Detective Constable Sarah Banks, of Leeds District CID, said: "This was a frightening experience for the two female members of staff who were working at the time and we would urgently like to hear from anyone who thinks they know who this man might be or who saw someone fitting his description in the area at the time."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or call the independent crime fighting charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
