Police Continue To Investigate Suspicious Death Of Man In North Tyneside
Police are continuing their investigation into the suspicious death of a man in North Tyneside.
Emergency services were called to an address in David Street, Wallsend, at 8:05pm on 05 October following reports that a man had been discovered with head injuries in the street.
The 39-year-old victim received medical treatment at the scene and was taken to Royal Victoria Infirmary.
He died a short time later.
A 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in custody.
It is believed the suspect and the victim are known to each other, Northumbria Police said.
Detective Chief Inspector John Bent said the force wants to hear from anyone who was in the area of David Street or heard anything suspicious earlier that evening.

A murder investigation has been launched following the discovery of a woman's body in a Hull hotel room. Police said they were called to the Ibis hotel on Osborne Street at 13:00 on Sunday, where they discovered the body of a woman. She is yet t be identified.

Man Arrested Over £1m Heroin Find
A man has been arrested in connection with the seizure of heroin, with an estimated street value of £1 million. Police Scotland recovered the heroin, along with a quantity of tablets, a firearm and ammunition, during the search of a property in Inverleith Street in Carntyne. A 33-year-old man has been charged with drug find.

Man Arrested Over Manchester Murder
Police investigating the murder of a 25-year-old man in Manchester last week have arrested a 70-year-old man. Craig Douglas was walking along Canal Street in the city last Monday evening with another man, when they were involved in an argument with two other men. Mr Douglas was then stabbed in the neck with a small knife.
