Motorcyclist Killed Following Collision
A motorcyclist has died following a collision near Tadcaster, North Yorkshire.
The accident happened at around 5.20pm on Thursday, 8 October, on Toulston Lane, at the junction with Rudgate, close to Tadcaster Grammar School.
The incident involved a red Vauxhall Astra, which was travelling along Rudgate, and a Triumph motorcycle, which was travelling along Toulston Lane in the company of another motorbike. The motorcyclist, who is understood to be a man in his 60s and from the area, suffered fatal injuries in the crash. He died at the scene.
The driver of the Vauxhall Astra, a 44-year-old woman from Barnsley, was arrested at the scene. She has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw either of the vehicles prior to the incident, are asked to contact police.
Help Sought To Locate Missing Teenager
A 14-year-old teenager has been reported missing from the Monks Road area of Lincoln.
Gabreale Sommerford was last seen at around 2.30pm on Thursday, 8 October.
She is described as having blonde hair with blue streaks in it, around 5ft 3in in height, and when last seen, was wearing a cream top, cream jeans and a black leather jacket. She may have a skateboard with her.
Anyone with information as to her whereabouts is asked to contact police on 101.
Community Projects Awarded £232,000
Two community projects in Newport have been awarded £232,000 by Minister for Communities and Tackling Poverty, Lesley Griffiths.
Bettws in Bloom, a voluntary organisation providing training courses, job clubs and a range of social activities, will receive £180,000 in funding, to provide a new support structure and roof to increase the lifespan of the building, reduce maintenance costs and improve safety.
Newport Credit Union, which offers affordable financial services to local people, has been awarded £52,800, and will assist the organisation to move from its current premises in Market Arcade, into larger premises in Market Hall. The new facility will provide a larger customer area with private consulting rooms and separate back office space.
The Community Facilities Programme provides capital grant funding of up to £500,000 to help tackle poverty through creating and improving local buildings and facilities.

Teenager questioned over fatal stabbing
A teenager is being questioned in connection with the stabbing of a 16-year-old Tyneside boy. Police are investigating the murder of Mark Smith, 16, from St John's Walk, Newcastle, who was stabbed and later died in hospital.

MoJ Reveal Drone Used In Prison Smuggle Attempt
The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has revealed that a drone was used to try and smuggle a package into the grounds of HMP Bedford. An MoJ spokesperson said that the aircraft was "quickly intercepted by vigilant staff" on 06 March.
