Two die in M6 motorway crash

Two people have died and four treated for minor injuries following a six-vehicle collision on the M6 near Coventry, it has been reported today.

The accident occurred at around 12.15pm today and involved four lorries, a car and a van.

The southbound carriageway of the motorway has been closed off and remain so until after 6pm this evening, police have said.

Police have appealed for anyone who may have information to come forward.

Road Chaos Follows M8 Fatality
There’s traffic chaos in the north today as a fatal accident involving eight vehicles has closed the M8 motorway. The road has been closed in both directions in West Lothian, causing massive tailbacks. The pile-up, between junctions 3 and 3a near Livingston, originated westbound at about 6.10am, although both sides of the carriageway are affected.

Two More Charged In Denton Murder Investigation
Two more people have been charged with murder in connection with the death of a man in Denton on Sunday. Dominic Doyle, 21, died in hospital after he was seriously injured in a large fight on Manchester Road at about 3am on Sunday. Police arrested four teenagers, aged between 15 and 18, following the incident, with three being charged.

Police Search Scrubland In Madeline McCann Inquiry
Police investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann have sealed off a large area of scrubland in the Algarve resort of Praia da Luz, where the three-year-old vanished seven years ago. A team of Portuguese police officers, some with dogs, and at least four vehicles have been stationed on a mound to the west of the town.
