Four teenagers bailed over Aimee's death

Four teenagers have been bailed after appearing in court, charged with manslaughter, following the death of 15-year-old Aimee Wellock earlier this month.

Nineteen-year-old Claire Carey, from Allerton Grange Drive in Bradford and a 15-year-old boy and two girls, aged 15 and 17, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Bradford Magistrates' Court, today.

The teenagers have also been charged with affray and the 15-year-old boy also faces an additional charge of intimidating a witness.

Aimee was found unconscious in a field in Allerton, Bradford, on June 7. She had collapsed minutes after an altercation with a group of youths.

She was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary, but later died.

A post-mortem revealed that Aimee suffered from a “serious medical condition” and pathologists have ordered that further tests carried out on her body.

The four teenagers, who were granted conditional bail, are due to appear before Bradford Crown Court on June 28.
