Teenager arrested following man’s death
A teenager has been arrested, in connection with an incident in which a man died after chasing a gang who pelted his home with eggs.
Father of five, Terry Barrett, 56, collapsed at his home, in Alamein Road, Saltash, around 2:30am on Saturday morning. He had suffered a brain haemorrhage and died later in hospital.
Mr Barrett repeatedly chased a gang of youths who had pelted his front door with eggs. It is understood the gang had targeted Mr Barrett’s home three times within an eighty-minute period in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Devon and Cornwall police confirmed that a 17-year-old had been arrested in connection with the incident. He had been detained on suspicion of criminal damage, police said.
The teenager is the fourth person to be arrested in connection with the incident. Yesterday, two 14-year-olds, who had been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and affray, were released without charge.
A 15-year-old, also arrested on the same charges, has been released on bail until August 8.

Eight Men Arrested Following Dawn Raids
Over 100 police officers have carried out a series of raids concerning child sexual exploitation offences in Oxford. Eight men were arrested following the raids at 6am this morning 2 June. Police are investigating approximately 60 offences in connection with the operation relating to female victims in Oxford between 1999 and 2007.

French Police Arrest Convicted On-The-Run Rapist
A 56-year-old convicted rapist who went on the run before his trial has been captured in France. Police in Calais arrested George Doulat, from Filey, North Yorkshire, on Monday. In his absence, Doulat was convicted at Bradford Crown Court for the rape, attempted rape and sexual assault of a 19-year-old woman in 2012. He was sentenced to 10 years.
