Two charged over Clapham Common murder

Two men have appeared in court, charged with the murder of London barman Jody Dobrowski.

Thomas Pickford, 25, who is homeless and unemployed and Scott Walker, 33, a decorator from Clapham were both arrested on Friday night.

They were remanded in custody at South Western Magistrates Court on Monday and are due to repapear at the Old Bailey on January 31.

Mr Dobrowski, a 24-year-old assistant bar manager from southeast London, was beaten to death on Clapham Common on October 14.

He died from severe head, neck and facial injuries, sustained in what is believed to have been a homophobic attack.

Last week, three teenagers – two aged 17 and one aged 13 – were arrested in connection with the murder. They were later released on police bail.

Arrest as spate of arson attacks in London kills shopkeeper
Police investigating three arson attacks in south London, which left one person dead, have arrested a man. A 33-year-old man is being questioned about the attacks, which all took place at Asian-run stores in the south London area. Police believe that the attacks were racially-motivated.

Man Charged Over Stockwell Shooting
A 19-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following a shooting in Stockwell Road. On Saturday Anthony McCalla, of Oakdale Road, south west London appeared at Camberwell Green Magistrates' Court charged with the attempted murder of Thusha Kamaleswaran, 5, and Roshan Selvakumar, 35.
