Police appeal for information over race killing
Police have appealed for information in relation to the fatal stabbing of a young man in Sheerness.
Eighteen-year-old Christopher Ugochukmu Benedict Alaneme, also known as Christian Roberts, was attacked in Sheerness High Street on Friday night. He was stabbed and died later in hospital.
Kent Police said that they are treating the murder as a racially motivated crime.
Christopher, who was black, was found after police were called to Sheerness High Street following reports of a disturbance. He had been stabbed and died later in hospital.
A 29-year-old white man, who was also stabbed, is still being treated in hospital. His condition is described as stable and not life-threatening. He has not been named.
Kent Police are continuing to question one man arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder on Sunday. Another man, who was arrested on Friday shortly after the attack, has been arrested on police bail pending further inquiries.
Police have released descriptions of three men that they wish to question in connection with the attacks.
The first man is described as white, of medium or stocky build, around 5ft 10in tall, around 18 to 25 years old, clean shaven with short dark hair that was gelled forward.
The second man is also white, of stocky build, up to 6ft tall, around 18 to 25 years old, clean shaven with very short cropped dark hair and a tattoo on the inside of his right forearm that runs from his wrist to elbow.
The third man is white, of slim build, about 6ft tall, aged between 18 and 25, clean shaven with chiselled features and short mousey coloured hair, possibly ginger, with noticeable sideburns.
Police said that the they believe the three men may have connections with the London area.

British Man Dies In Dubai Police Custody

Man Arrested Over Kent Doctor's Murder
A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a doctor in Kent. Consultant paediatrician Dr Victoria Anyetei, 54, was found in her car in the driveway of her home in Dartford on August 14. She had been stabbed to death. Kent Police said that the man was arrested on suspicion of murder at an address in Dartford.

Man Cleared Of Killing Police Officer
A man, accused of killing police officer Keith Blakelock in 1985, has been cleared of the charge. Nicholas Jacobs, 45, had previously denied killing Mr Blakelock. Blakelock was stabbed 43 times at Broadwater Farm, Tottenham, during riots that happened in north London.

Man Arrested For 2002 Murder Of Becky Godden
Police investigating the disappearance of Becky Godden on December 2002, have arrested a 51-year-old man on suspicion of murder. Ms Godden was aged 20 when she disappeared in Swindon on 27 December. Her remains were found in 2011 on farmland in Gloucestershire.
