US rapper arrested in airport row

US rapper Snoop Dogg has been arrested following a disturbance at Heathrow airport.

The 34-year-old star, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, was among six men - all US citizens in their thirties - who were arrested when a disturbance broke out in a business lounge at Terminal 1 on Wednesday evening.

Around 30 people were involved in the fracas which allegedly broke out when Snoop's party were told that they could not board their flight to Johannesburg, South Africa.

Seven officers received minor injuries during the disturbance. Most of those who were injured suffered cuts and bruises, while one fractured his hand.

A spokesperson for Scotland Yard said: "The party was told that they would not be permitted to board their flight and officers then attempted to direct the group to baggage reclaim.

"A number of the group became abusive and pushed officers."

The six men were all arrested on charges of violent disorder and affray and are being held at two west London police stations.
