Hunt continues for special constable killer

Police investigating the murder of special constable Nisha Patel-Nasri in north London last week have said that they have received several calls containing "significant information".

Police conducted house-to-house enquiries in Wembley on Thursday night, a week after the 29-year-old was fatally stabbed outside her home.

Leaflets have also been distributed to the public in a bid to find her killer.

Mrs Patel-Nasri bled to death after being stabbed in the leg outside her home in Sudbury Avenue last Thursday night.

It is believed that she went outside in her night clothes just before midnight after hearing a disturbance outside.

Police believe that she may have been killed with her own kitchen knife which she may have taken outside with her.

Police are keen to trace a black man in a hooded top who was seen running from the murder scene, as well as a second man who walked away and did not turn to acknowledge Nisha's screams.

Police are investigating several possible motives for the attack. Expensive cars were often parked outside Mrs Patel-Nasri's home, because her husband ran a limousine business and it is believed that they may have been targeted by thieves.

Police are also investigating possible links to an attempted burglary at the house on May 6.
